🧠 EU-INC in Forbes & {Tech: Europe}’s last events 2025
Forbes published a piece on EU-INC last week, which captured the overall narrative pretty well. The reason why the US has taken over Europe when it comes to tech behemoths, is not lack of talent, money or work ethic. It’s mostly due to the complex fragmentation and thus diminished ambition of founders to build something large. So as a little reminder, if you haven’t already, start spreading the word.

🇪🇺 What’s happening in Europe?
From the south of Germany, Black Forest Labs has released FLUX.2 for next generation video generation. Since it’s not in the LMArena leaderboard yet, the jury is still out how it fares against the dominant models by Google, Tencent and others. But results seem significantly better, despite it being slower than the previous one. Especially if you need a LORA model.
Revolut established its new $75b valuation by selling secondary shares. Most notably, NVIDIA joined as a “strategic investor”. This marks at least their fifth major investment into a European startup in the past six months alone.
ModelLM has raised one of the largest fintech Series A rounds ever. The London based startup collected $75m to make junior bankers more productive (or obsolete).
After Northvolt’s fallout, Stegra was granted additional €37m by the Swedish Energy Agency to, once again, tackle green carbon steel.
